General requirements of sold horses
Our horses utilize various sliders. Having the same sliders in use shouldn't be required unless you're trying to edit the horse. Still, it's always better to be safe than sorry, so having these won't hurt.

How to get the horse sold to you into your game
Once you're chosen to be the owner, we will send you the horse as a .sim file. For the horse to show up in your game you'll first need to put this sent file into My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/SavedSims folder. Don't do this while game is running to avoid frustrating situations and make sure that the folder isn't open when you start up the game. When in game head to CAS to create a household or alternatively edit some random (wild) horse in CAS. Select to load a premade sim and scroll until you locate the horse, notice that filtering to horses makes this easier. Your unaware CAS subject should turn into the horse once you choose it from the premade sims. Now just give it a proper barn name (or go with what ever is your in game naming policy) and change mane/tail style to your liking and you're ready to accept the changes. After this add the "created" horse to your household and have fun!
NB: Horse's bio will list the official name beside the information of sire, dam, color, breed & sex, but it's good idea to have this information somewhere out of the game too.
